About Solid State Drives

Solid State Drives have no mechanical/moving parts like conventional Hard Drives, but they use electronic memory chips as memory banks. It is like a "big" Flash Memory, using the same architecture but with much higher number of memory chips.  SSDs can be found in various interface versions so they can respectively replace any kind of conventional storage.

Common Malfunctions of SSDs

As we mentioned before, SSDs share the same technology/architecture with Flash Memories, so they share similar malfunctions and issues.

Most common issue is the failure of controller chip so it makes the drive unable to detect the memory banks in a logical manner and respectively the user unable to access the data.
